The “So You Think You Can Dance” star and disc jockey on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” died on Dec. 13. According to a report from the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner, the cause of Boss’ death was a gunshot wound to the head, the Los Angeles Times reported. The coroner said Boss died by suicide at a Rodeway Inn motel in Encino, according to the newspaper.
Boss left a note before he died, the Times reported. Its contents, which were not revealed, led investigators to call his death a suicide, according to the newspaper.
Boss’ death was confirmed on Dec. 14 by his wife, Allison Holker Boss. In a statement released at the time, Alison Boss said her husband “lit up every room he stepped into.”
“He valued family, friends and community above all else and leading with love and light was everything to him,” she said. “He was the backbone of our family, the best husband and father, and an inspiration to his fans.”
