A tractor-trailer driver may have to do that exact same thing after a pilot had to make an emergency landing on a Houston-area highway Sunday morning, KPRC reported.

The small plane had engine problems around 11:30 a.m. when it had to make the emergency landing on Highway 99 near Tomball, Texas.

“I’m just passing the Tomball stadium now. I’m going to try to bring it in over the road and land with traffic,” the pilot said, according to KHOU.

Only the pilot was on board the single-engine Beech M35 at the time.

While bringing the plane down, the pilot clipped a trailer and hit a concrete barrier before the plane caught fire after landing.

The plane was apparently a little wider than the highway and the wings rubbed the concrete barriers, causing the fire, KHOU reported.

Neither the pilot, who refused medical attention nor the truck driver had major injuries, KPRC reported.
