TUCSON, Ariz. – Two inmates in Arizona are facing additional charges after they allegedly faked overdoses in an attempt to escape.
According to KSAZ, Shaun Busch, 31, and Roger Rios, 26, were taken from jail in Pima County, Arizona, to the hospital on Tuesday after showing signs of having an overdose.
Rios allegedly tried to jump from his hospital room and leave the room but Pima County Sheriff’s Department told KSAZ that correction offers stopped him.
According to KOLD, officials were quickly able to discover the plans and brought additional security to the hospital.
Busch was unable to try to escape because of increased security at the hospital, according to KSAZ.
Rios and Busch have been returned to the Pima County Adult Detention Complex, according to KOLD. Both have been charged with second-degree felony escape.
