WEBSTER CITY, Iowa – A 7-year-old Iowa boy is recovering after police said he was accidentally shot by his father, authorities said.
According to the Webster City Police Department, the boy suffered a gunshot wound to his foot in the Saturday incident, KCCI reported.
The boy’s father was pulling the gun out of his waistband when it discharged, the television station reported.
Officials said the boy is expected to recover.
The Hamilton County prosecutor is reviewing the case to determine if charges should be filed, according to KCCI.
