KING OF PRUSSIA, Pa. – At least three people fighting in a Pennsylvania apartment were injured Monday night when they fell seven stories down an elevator shaft, authorities said.

The fight in King of Prussia occurred between three men, ages 20 to 22, WCAU reported. Police said the men were fighting on the eighth floor of the building when they broke through the closed hallway elevator doors and fell down the shaft, the television station reported.

Police said the men landed on the roof of the elevator on the first floor, WTXF reported. Two of them crashed through the roof of the elevator car, the television station reported.

Two of the men were taken to an area hospital. The third man, the most seriously hurt of the trio, was flown by helicopter to the trauma center at Penn Presbyterian Hospital, according to WCAU.

It was unclear what caused the fight. Officials did not reveal the extent of the men’s injuries, the television station reported.
