J.J. Watt has been called one of the most dominant defensive players in the NFL.
Add “new dad” to his list of accomplishments.
The Arizona Cardinals’ 33-year-old defensive end announced on Twitter that he and his wife, women’s soccer star Kealia Ohai, are expecting their first child.
“Could not be more excited,” Watt tweeted.
The couple did not reveal the baby’s gender, KPRC-TV reported.
According to Ohai’s Instagram account, the baby is expected to arrive sometime in October.
Ohai, 30, who played for the 2012 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup champions, shared several photographs of her cradling her baby bump under a brown bodycon dress, People reported.
Watt proposed to Ohai in May 2019 when both were vacationing in the Bahamas, KHOU-TV reported. The couple have been together since 2016, according to the television station.
The couple got married in a Bahamas ceremony in February 2020.
Watt signed with the Cardinals in March 2021 after playing 10 seasons for the Houston Texans.
