ORLAND PARK, Ill. – A Burger King employee in suburban Chicago is accused of breaking into and robbing a restaurant next to his workplace, authorities said.

Ronnak Niazi, 35, of Oak Forest, Illinois, was charged with one count of commercial burglary, WFLD reported.

Police responded to the Southfork restaurant in Orland Park on Aug. 11 after receiving a call about a burglary, WGN-TV reported. Police said approximately $2,500 was taken from the restaurant, according to the television station.

After reviewing video surveillance, police determined that a man, later identified as Niazi, forced open the rear doors of the restaurant at 9 p.m. CDT and removed two cash registers, WFLD reported.

Niazi was arrested Wednesday in Oak Lawn, according to WGN.
